Notes

1.  Topic - Industry Research

We need to know who are potential partners are, and what technologies/standards are available to us.

We need to get some active work going here to get information out of the other groups. We have a list of potential organizations from July. TomB and Jean will generate a short template to fill in for each group and we will assign each one to an individual to contact the group and fill it in.

Have we missed any groups? There is some work at IEEE/ANSI/ITU, but probably of peripheral interest at the moment. If anyone can think of anything that we have forgotten, please feel free to take the initiative.

What do we want in a template? We should start with a short intro - our charter, and then ask about their activities/WGs which address QoS, Applications. We would like to know something about their charter, what standards they are working on, and what they have already done. Some idea of implementation status is important. We need to get appropriate contacts, and any recommendations on follow-on actions by AQRM.

Martin will put up a template on the website for people to download, fill in, and post the completed versions.

We should aim to revisit this again earlier than the scheduled date of September 30th. We juggled the schedule to replace Policy with Architecture on September 9th, and Architecture with Industry Research on September 16th.

2. October

We will be addressing recruiting speakers , etc for October next week.

Tom asked if we could get an analyst or analysts to come and talk to us in October and give us their view of which we are covering. Possibilities include Rick Sturm and Peter Sevcik.
