Public Seminar
The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
Sunday 13th October 2002

Overview

For the past eight years, the prime focus of The Open Group Architecture Forum has been the evolution of TOGAF. It is a framework for developing technical architectures that fully meet the business needs of an organization. Now that this TOGAF has reached maturity with version 7, the Forum is responding to new challenges. There is increasing realization of the importance of Architecture in the development of information systems. So, users are seeking a framework that helps to develop architectures to satisfy all aspects of an organization's information services - Enterprise Architectures. They are also seeking skilled architectural practitioners and suitable tool sets that will support them.

This tutorial describes what the Architecture Forum has achieved so far, and shows how the Forum is responding to the new challenges.
