We are all aware of the importance the equation E = MC2 in the 20th century. This presentation will explore the importance of this equation to the 21st century enterprise.

The 21st century enterprise is clearly being driven by "information." Harnessing and controlling this "informational energy" is the key to success or failure in today's world.

From the beginning, The Open Group Architectural Framework has recognized the need to support multiple perspectives, facilitate collaboration, and build an environment for leveraging enterprise assets. The guiding architectural principles include recognizing and supporting the needs of a diverse set of stakeholders.

Tools can help or hinder this enterprise evolution. Often our initial tool set consists of a series of "Wall Paper Generators" with myriads of diagrams, spreadsheets, data tables, and word documents literally papering the walls. Frequently these "Wall Paper" views are out of date and out of synch with one another. Various stakeholders prefer differing ways of viewing "their world."

Methodologists and tool smiths create their respective theories, perspectives, and views. These views may or may not communicate well with the myriad of stakeholders.

This presentation will demonstrate the effectiveness of applying the powerful meta-modeling capabilities of Envision VIP and its multi-user object-oriented repository throughout an enterprise. Envision VIP can help create a synergistic and intuitive environment for managing and leveraging virtually any type of enterprise information. We will show examples of how an organization can truly realize the benefits of a custom Envision Management Command & Center [E=MC2].
