Jan began his career as a software engineer on architectures and system development projects. Jan used this wide range of experiences to launch Popkin Software and Systems 18 years ago. AS CEO of Popkin Software, Jan is considered a leading expert on enterprise architecture tools and methodologies and how to apply them to improve interoperability, agility and business-IT alignment. Thousands of IT professionals in major, multi-national corporations and government agencies worldwide use the company's flagship tool set, System Architect, to help them understand how to improve their competitive advantage and to comply with emerging regulations.

Jan is a board member of the Business Process Management Initiative (BPMI.org), a leading trade association for business process modeling standards, and the New York Software Industry Association (NYSIA), a leading trade association for software, information technology and Web development companies in New York State.
