Austin Group Status Update Austin/102 Page 1 of 1 Submitted by Andrew Josey, The Open Group. April 22 2002 The Austin Common Standards Revision Group (CSRG) is a joint technical working group established to consider the matter of a common revision of ISO/IEC 9945-1, ISO/IEC 9945-2, IEEE Std 1003.1, IEEE Std 1003.2 and the appropriate parts of the Single UNIX Specification. As of April 19 we received notice that the Austin Group document has proceeded to the next stage in the ISO process. Stage 50.00 ( see URL http://www.iso.ch/iso/en/stdsdevelopment/techprog/workprog/TechnicalProgrammeProjectDetailPage.TechnicalProgrammeProjectDetail?csnumber=34698 ) . Progress has been slower than we had understood it to have been previously. The ANSI secretariat who have been most helpful in tracking the progress has passed along a message from ISO saying that they now plan to commence the FDIS ballot (a two month ballot) around May 19. ISO is not allowed to make any changes to the document in this final ballot. The focus for the Austin Group is now on technical corrigenda number one. The scope of this item is limited to bugfixing. The scope will be discussed further at the upcoming meeting. The aardvark is available from the Austin Group home page at http://www.opengroup.org/austin/defectform.html to receive defect reports. These will be processed at the next meeting to be held on May 8/9 in Reading. More information on the Austin Group can be obtained from the web site at http://www.opengroup.org/austin/ ----- Andrew Josey The Open Group
