August 29, 2002 Work is progressing on Technical Corrigendum number 1 (TC1), which is intended as a bugfix update. The current document is draft 3, which is a committee draft. On August 15th, the IEEE-SA approved the project authorization request to make TC1 an official IEEE project. The designation for the corrigendum project is as follows: P1003.1-2001/Cor 1-200x Standard for Information Technology -- Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) -- Technical Corrigendum Number 1 The proposed draft schedule herein is now as follows: Draft 3 review teleconference September 5th Draft 4 10 day recirculation committee draft September 9 Draft 4 review teleconference September 19th Draft 5 September 23rd - external ballot draft Draft 4 is the last draft into which final corrigenda items from the remaining aardvark can be added. Draft 5 is proposed to be the final draft suitable for formal balloting by the sponsoring organizations. The exact date for that ballot will be coordinated with IEEE, and the draft will be simultaneously balloted within the Austin Group and The Open Group. At the ISO/IEC level, the final ballot to adopt the final Austin Group specification as an international standard is currently in progress. It is expected to complete on September 19th.
