Minutes of the 31st October 2024 Teleconference Austin-1433 Page 1 of 1 Submitted by Andrew Josey, The Open Group. 2nd November 2024 Attendees: Andrew Josey, The Open Group Nick Stoughton, USENIX, ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 22 OR Don Cragun, IEEE SA OR Geoff Clare, The Open Group Eric Ackermann, CISPA Eric Blake, Red Hat, The Open Group OR Apologies Tom Thompson, IEEE The ISO status remains unchanged. Andrew had started to prepare for a PAR submission at IEEE and had some feedback from Tom to change the submission date to the SA ballot date to July 2025 and the submit to RevCom date to January 2026. The reasoning as follows: the NesCom review would happen in January and since the dates are only estimates, the group is not held to them. While there isn't much to update giving the group about 6 months to complete the work should limit comments or questions from NesCom. Geoff had reviewed the ISO editorial comments to see whether any were editorial corrections that we felt should also be included in a TC, and has started to file a number of bug reports so they can be further considered. * Carried forward Bug 1851: FD_CLOFORK should not be preserved across exec https://www.austingroupbugs.net/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=1851 This item still open. AI: Andrew to try to contact Solaris, other BSD, AIX, and macOS for comments. Andrew has partially completed this, sending notes to contacts for Solaris and macOS.
