Just the updates on Austin/240r1 are noted here.

ACTION AI-2005-01-09 Andrew Josey & Mats Wichmann to propose a time and place
for a joint Austin group/LSB Workgroup meeting to consider LSB/POSIX
conflicts, to be held as soon as conveniently possible.
Status: OPEN

LSB 3.0 is done. 
We do not anticipate any major changes to the conflicts document.
Nick still has an action to prepare an agenda for a teleconference.


ACTION AI-2005-01-06: AJ to contact Jack McCann at HP for views on
getnameinfo document, and for any other networking issues that may
concern us. 
Status: OPEN, looking for a volunteer to acts as a liaison to
the networking folks at IETF

and request more information on the problem that has
been encountered with the current wording. 
Also ask whether he believes the wording of setsid() needs
to be changed.

This item remains open pending response from original requestor.
Andrew reported that he had been in touch with the originator
and that the individual had been on vacation.

If standard input is associated with a terminal the nohup utility
may redirect standard input from an unspecified file.

 Change XCU page 677 line 26215 from:
    nohup sh -c 'complex-command-line'

 to:
    nohup sh -c 'complex-command-line' </dev/null

 Append the following after XCU page 677 line 26126:
    Historical versions of nohup did not affect standard input, but
    that causes problems in the common scenario where the user logs
    into a system, types the command "nohup make &" at the prompt,
    and then logs out.  If standard input is not affected by nohup, the
    login session may not terminate for quite some time, since standard
    input remains open until "make" exits.  To avoid this problem the
    current standard allows implementations to redirect standard input
    (typically from /dev/null) if it is a terminal.  Since the behavior
    is not required portable programs that run into the problem should
    redirect standard input themselves.  For example, instead of "nohup
    make &" an application can invoke "nohup make </dev/null &".

 Change XCU page 675 lines 26139-26140 from:

    If the standard error is a terminal, all output written by the named
    utility to its standard error shall be redirected to the same file
    descriptor as the standard output.

 to:

    If standard error is a terminal and standard output is open but is
    not a terminal, all output written by the named utility to its
    standard error shall be redirected to the same open file
    description as the standard output.  If standard error is a
    terminal and standard output either is a terminal or is closed, the
    same output shall instead be appended to the end of the nohup.out
    file as described above.
