Defect Report Processing ------------------------- We picked up on recent aardvarks http://www.opengroup.org/austin/aardvark/latest/ XBD ERN 65 dirent.h DIR Accept as marked below This should go down the interpretations track: Interpretation: ----------------- The standard is unclear on this issue, and no conformance distinction can be made between alternative implementations based on this. This is being referred to the sponsor. Rationale: ----------- The standard developers felt that the current text was ambiguous and have forwarded concerns to the sponsor to clarify this. Notes to the Editor for a future revision (not part of this interpretation): --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Add after DIR A type representing a directory stream. The DIR type may be an incomplete type. XBD ERN 66 posix_trace_event_info structure Accept as marked below Add to SD5 Add to XSH page 72, join to end of para shown below in 2983: Results are undefined if the application performs any operation on a file descriptor associated with an active or pre-recorded trace stream until posix_trace_shutdown() orposix_trace_close()is called for that trace stream... "Results are also undefined if the analyzer process and the traced process do not share the same programming environment (add cxref to c99, Programming Environments, page 319 in xcu)" XBD ERN 67 SCHAR_MIN limits.h/stdint.h Accept as marked below Add to SD5 SCHAR_MIN is intentionally -128 as its twos complement arithmetic Change the stdint.h RATIONALE, XBD page 323 lines 11533-11536 from 11533 As a consequence of adding int8_t, the following are true: 11534 "A byte is exactly 8 bits. 11535 "{CHAR_BIT} has the value 8, {SCHAR_MAX} has the value 127, {SCHAR_MIN} has the 11536 value -127 or -128, and {UCHAR_MAX} has the value 255. to 11533 As a consequence of adding int8_t, the following are true: 11534 "A byte is exactly 8 bits. 11535 "{CHAR_BIT} has the value 8, {SCHAR_MAX} has the value 127, {SCHAR_MIN} has the 11536 value -128 (due to twos complement arithmetic), and {UCHAR_MAX} has the value 255.
