At the moment silence should be read as unspecified. +The above carried forward OPEN from last time, we picked up as follows: XCU ERN 94 ed SIGHUP/disconnect OPEN Action: Mark will take the action to come back with a further proposal XCU ERN 100 m4 syscmd Accept as marked below Add to existing text after the 2nd sentence "The defining text shall be the string result of that command.": "The string result shall not be rescanned for macros while setting the defining text" XCU ERN 101 m4 undivert Accept as marked below Change the text at line 22557 from: It shall be an error to specify an argument containing any non-numeric characters. to: Behavior is unspecified if any argument contains any non-numeric characters. XCU ERN 102 cp -i Accept XCU ERN 103 diff -u Accept Add to SD/5 so can be merged into Draft 2 XCU ERN 104 diff Accept as marked below ERN 104(->interps track) AI-xxx The review group agreed that the standard is clear, but that concerns are being forwarded to the sponsor. It was felt that in a future direction the standard should require detection of the loop. It is proposed to use similar wording to ls After 12317 on page 319 (end of -r OPTION) The diff utility shall detect infinite loops; that is, entering a previously visited directory that is an ancestor of the last file encountered. When it detects an infinite loop, diff shall write a diagnostic message to standard error and shall either recover its position in the hierarchy or terminate. Action: Andrew get an interp filed XCU ERN 105 diff Accept as marked below ERN 105(->interps track) AI-xxx The review group agreed that the standard is clear, but that concerns are being forwarded to the sponsor as it does not match all historic practise. It is suggested to accept the proposed text as possible text for a future revision AOB --- We did not cover the ERNs Andrew had circulated before the meeting on tracing. We will cover these next week if we are not able to progress on the reflector. Next Steps ----------- Andrew will update the aardvark reports with the latest inbound defect reports.
