Sep 10, 2007 The Austin Common Standards Revision Group (CSRG) is a joint technical working group that manages the joint specification that is ISO/IEC 9945 (POSIX), IEEE Std 1003.1 and The Open Group Base Specifications Issue 6. Work continues in the Austin Group in regular teleconferences and on the email reflector. The major work item is the revision of the joint standard, with the goal of a revised standard in 2008 (targeted for the September 2008 IEEE Standards Board). The Austin Group met at The Open Group in Reading, UK on September 4-7 2007 to review comments received on Draft three of the revision and defect reports against the 2004 edition. Deliverables from the plenary meeting include detailed editing instructions for the editors based on the review comments (Austin/392-396 *), together with an updated project plan (Austin/389, Austin/390) detailing the timeline and the ballot cycle. Interim update drafts (Austin Group review only) are targeted for late September 2007 and mid October 2007. Draft 4 is planned for December 15 2007. The next face to face meeting will be in the San Francisco, USA in the week commencing Feb 25 2008.
