The review within the Austin Group and The Open Group opened on January 18 runs until Feb 22 at 8am UK local Within the IEEE the ballot opened 22-Jan-2008 and closes at 21-Feb-2008 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Andrew reported that he has produced an experimental diffmk version, that shows the differences between Draft 4 and the 2004 edition (inc TC1&TC2). This is available at the same download point as the draft. He noted that line numbers are different between the drafts, and so he requests that only the official draft be used for bug reporting. * Next Face to Face Meeting preparation Andrew reported that due to travel budget restrictions that he and Cathy will participate virtually in the face to face meeting. It was confirmed that this will still go ahead at The Open Group offices in San Francisco, we expect Don, Nick, Ulrich (unconfirmed), Larry (unconfirmed) and possibly Mats to attend in person. We expect to have Andrew, Cathy, Geoff and Mark on the phone. Andrew will confirm logistics with the SF office, for example we need a projector, we also need to confirm what the earliest time to get into the office will be ( For those in the SF, the office is very close to the BART on Montgomery St). We plan to use virtual screen projection so that we can all see the aardvark under discussion. We trialled webex on the call today. We also expect to trial vnc when Ulrich is available next. We agreed that we will end the meeting at 4pm Pacific time each day. We also agreed that we will spend the next few weeks of weekly calls reviewing the inbound aardvark. * 2004 Aardvark reports http://www.opengroup.org/austin/aardvark/latest/ XSH ERN 233 strfmon() Accept as marked below Change "in the U.S." on P1443, L44969 to "in many locales". The same change should also be carried forward into the revision on Draft 4 P1996, L63233 (as an editorial). Action: Andrew pass this to Cathy (add to SD5) XRAT ERN 9 B2.12 off_t rationale Accept Action: Andrew pass to Cathy, as informative text and can be changed in D4R too (add to SD5) * D4R Bug Reports Please note that the ERN references for D4R are transient and will change when new bugs come in. Andrew is noting a reference to help identify the bug and will annotate the rdvk bug source so that when a new report is generated the proposed resolution to date will occur within the bug. http://www.opengroup.org/austin/aardvark/d4r/ XBD ERN 1 gwc fstatat Accept XBD ERN 2 gwc pathname resolution, defer for now XBD ERN 3 gwc guideline 13 Accept XBD ERN 4 gwc WNOHANG defer for now , possible problem with waitid() page XBD ERN 5 gwc unistd.h Accept XSH ERN 1 nick SEE ALSO, Accept as marked below Make the changes Nick suggests except for removal of , and where it says change to , just add to the SEE ALSO The rationale was that often a type might be referred to in a page, and the inclusion of is implicit, so the SEE ALSO is often useful. A detailed pass could be made to consider each interface, however the course above will work. Next Steps ----------- Andrew will update the aardvark reports with the latest inbound defect reports.
