We have sent pdf to ISO for production. The aardvark bug reports now allow defect reports to be reported against the 2008 edition, and that is the preferred specification. We will continue to accept defect reports against the 2004 edition for some time. * Aardvark We picked up on the aardvark reports, which are located at http://www.opengroup.org/austin/aardvark/latest/ * 2008 aardvarks Andrew updated the defect reports during the call. XSH ERN 15 Defect in XSH 2.4.3 The standard is clear and concerns are being forwarded to the sponsor. A previous interpretation 1003.1c-1995 #37, and also ERN XSHbug2145 have addressed the same issue, but still the problem has remained unresolved. After lengthy discussions it was decided that Because of the problems which exist here it has become clear that an application using pthread_atfork(), even if the application itself did not call pthread_atfork(), may have had pthread_atfork() handlers installed by a third party library or the implementation. Therefore calling fork() from an asynchronous signal handler is undefined. Therefore we are removing fork() from the list of async-signal-safe functions. We expect to add further rationale or application usage to affected functions when the interpretation is reviewed.
