May 22nd, 2000 The fifth meeting of the joint technical working group informally known as the Austin Group was held at the Open Group offices in Reading on May 15-19 2000. The meeting had 12 attendees . The objective of this meeting was to review the draft three specifications. A five day plenary session was held, and over 1140 change requests were processed (at an average of 43 aardvark requests per hour, this was slightly down over last time [47 per hour in Montreal]). The minutes and documents Austin/SD1, Austin/SD2 should be read for further details. The next draft (Draft 4) will be produced at the end of July and will fold in the changes identified by the review of draft 3, fold in 1003.1q and also produce the rationale volume (XRAT). Draft 4 will be feature complete, no new features are expected to be added after that point. Draft four is scheduled for Aug 1 2000, and will be available for an 8 week review period, closing Sep 26 2000 . The formal review period for draft four will include concurrent IEEE and ISO balloting . The next plenary meeting will be in October 2000 (the week commencing October 9) to review aardvark arising from draft four. This meeting will be a five day meeting and be held in the USA at a location to be confirmed.
