December 4 , 2009 Attendees Andrew Josey, The Open Group Don Cragun, PASC OR Geoff Clare, The Open Group Mark Brown, IBM, TOG OR Nick Stoughton, USENIX, ISO/IEC OR Mats Wichmann, Intel Apologies Ulrich Drepper, Red Hat Andrew confirmed that his action from the last meeting was complete (bug 184 had been filed). Geoff had raised an issue with the minutes and we agreed that bug #173 should be updated. We picked up on the current bugs Mantis #181 Does Each Thread have its own Floating Point Env? Accept as marked http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=181 On line 2670, change "Each thread has its own thread ID, scheduling priority and policy, errno value, thread-specific key/value bindings, and the required system resources to support a flow of control." to "Each thread has its own thread ID, scheduling priority and policy, errno value, floating point environment, thread-specific key/value bindings, and the required system resources to support a flow of control." Mantis #182 Unsafe use of LINE_MAX in fgets() example Accept http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=182 Mantis #183 http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=183 This has been moved to the onlinepubs product. Mantis #184 inet_ntop() vs. RFC 2553 Rejected http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=184 This item was rejected based on the issue being raised before in the development cycle. Austin/50r1 contains XSH ERN 296, where this change was proposed before, and rejected. Quote: Action Item 2000-05-022: Andrew Gollan (XSHd3 ERN 296) to forward socklen_t info to IETF WG for inclusion in RFC 2553 replacement (IPv6 API) when published End quote probably explains why the RFC was updated. There is, however, little rationale for the rejection of ERN 296. Mantis #185 setenv failure case Accepted http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=185 This item should go down the interpretations track Mantis #186 Thread-safety between different functions Accepted http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=186 Mantis #188 OPEN It was agreed to leave this item open until the next meeting Mantis #189 improved getopt example Accept as marked http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=189 See bugnote 310 Mantis #190 Require environment variables and exit status information to man pages Description Accept as marked http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=190 We agree that the changes are reasonable, but also believe that the man utiity is not required on embedded systems. Make the changes suggested in the Desired Action and also make the following changes: Add man to the set of User Portability Extension utilities by: 1. Add the UP mark to P2930, L96400, 2. Add man to the list on P28, L1019-1020 in sorted order.
