October 15 , 2010 Attendees Andrew Josey, The Open Group Don Cragun, PASC OR Nick Stoughton, USENIX, ISO/IEC OR Mark Brown, IBM, TOG OR Geoff Clare, The Open Group Eric Blake, Red Hat David Korn, AT&T (partial) * Corrections to the Minutes Andrew noted a correction to the attendees list for the last meeting: Pradhap Devarajan, Sun/Oracle * We picked up on regular Bug processing Bug 0000249: Add standard support for $'...' in shell OPEN http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=249 David Korn has joined the call for this item. A discussion followed. David and Chet will work on some wording. Don expects to complete his action before the next meeting. Bug 0000324: Clarify that ENOTDIR is for existing non-directory files Accepted as marked http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=324 We believe that this is an editorial issue clarifying what was always the intent of the standard. Therefore, we do not believe an interpretation is required. Change: "A component of the path prefix is not a directory" in all of the cases listed in Note: 0000572 to: "A component of the path prefix names an existing file that is neither a directory nor a symbolic link to a directory". with minor variations where the interface uses multiple path arguments. This item is tagged for TC1-2008 Bug 0000325: tr and m4 translit behavior when string1 has repeated characters Accepted as Marked http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=325 The WG will be applying Option #2 from the Desired Action field; this will both clarify that this behavior is indeed undefined in the specification and also clean up the text for tr in this case. This item is tagged for TC1-2008. Bug 0000293: restricting readdir normalization of filenames http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=293 Geoff had sent an email proposing splitting the proposed changes as not all should be applicable to TC1-2008. See austin-group-l:archive/latest/14611 It was agreed that Geoff would do the proposed changes and split off some of the changes to Bug 291. Bug 0000326: linkat() equivalence to link() exception insufficient Accepted http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=326 This item has been tagged TC1-2008. Bug 0000329: semop() description lists incorrect type for sem_num Accepted as Marked http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=329 An interpretation is required. Interpretation response The standard is unclear on this issue, and no conformance distinction can be made between alternative implementations based on this. This is being referred to the sponsor. Rationale: None. Notes to the Editor (not part of this interpretation): Change the type of the sem_num member of the sembuf structure in the description of semop() to "unsigned short" At page 1840 line 58804 (EFBIG) delete "is less than 0 or". Bug 0000328: Auto-Dependency Generation OPEN This item was moved to become an issue 7 bug.
