Minutes of the 7 April 2011 Teleconference Austin-518 Page 1 of 1 Submitted by Andrew Josey, The Open Group. April 9 , 2011 Attendees Andrew Josey, The Open Group Don Cragun, PASC OR Jim Pugsley, Oracle Geoff Clare, The Open Group Mark Brown, IBM, TOG OR Eric Blake, Red Hat Nick Stoughton, USENIX, ISO/IEC OR * Old Business Andrew reported that the editors are still continuing to work on production of TC1-2008 and have completed their first pass through the document. We expect to ship the first draft of the TC committee draft at the end of next week. Andrew reported that he had also started his action to contact QNX about permissions for the tcsetsid() function -- a contact had been established. * New Business We picked up on regular Bug processing, the meeting was devoted to items that had been brought forward from previous meetings. Bug 0000374: malloc(0) and realloc(p,0) must not change errno on success OPEN http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=374 We decided that this bug should remain on hold until further progress is made with the C1x revision. Eric agreed to take an action on bug 374 to add a note with the current status. Bug 0000400: realloc wording conflicts with C99 OPEN http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=400 Nick reported that he had raised the issue with members of WG14. They felt that the intent of the words was that a null return is always a failure and we need to tighten this in Issue 8. Nick agreed to take an action on bug 400 to propose wording. Bug 0000251: Forbid bytes 1 through 31 (inclusive) in filenames OPEN http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=251 Don had circulated a proposal on the reflector and a lot of discussion had followed. We went through the current proposal addressing individual issues. It was suggested that the best way forward is to develop a separate white paper, as was done for the Large File Summit, so we could get further feedback on this issue . Don will continue to revise the proposal. Next Steps ---------- The next call will be on April 21st at 08:00 Pacific and will continue processing defect reports.
