Minutes of the 2 April 2015 Teleconference Austin-702 Page 1 of 1 Submitted by Andrew Josey, The Open Group. 3 April 2015 Attendees: David Clissold, IBM Don Cragun, IEEE OR Mark Ziegast, SHware Systems Andrew Josey, The Open Group Geoff Clare, The Open Group Joerg Schilling, FOKUS Fraunhofer Eric Blake, Red Hat Martin Rehak, Oracle, The Open Group OR Roger Faulkner , Oracle Nick Stoughton, USENIX, ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 22 OR Richard Hansen, BBN Apologies: Mark Brown, Canonical * General news We had a discussion about a wish to have a live version of the specification which could reflect agreed changes as they are in the bug reports. There are a few challenges, but we agreed to investigate. We noted that with the IEEE PAR scheduled for processing in June, we should start planning preparation of the TC2 drafts, and that the svn tree of changes was fairly up to date. Andrew took an action to produce a refreshed working copy of TC2, which he completed after the meeting. This is available at https://svn.opengroup.org/websvn/listing.php?repname=POSIX&path=%2FBaseI7%2FTC2%2FWorking-Copy%2F& * Outstanding actions ( Please note that I have flushed this section to shorten the minutes - to locate the last set of outstanding actions, look to the minutes from 26 Feb 2015) Bug 0000887: printf and other functions appear many times in search results OPEN http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=887 Andrew is investigating. Bug 0000900: add qsort_r OPEN http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=900 The consensus was that its a good idea to add the suggested interface. The usual requirements regarding a sponsor for a new interface apply. Action: Open Group OR , to ask the Base WG if they wish to sponsor the additional qsort interface proposed here. * Current Business Bug 0000901: reserve _POSIX* shell option namespace for future use OPEN http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=901 (relates to a discussion on the reflector in October 2014 X-Mailing-List: austin-group-l:archive/latest/21581 adding support for standard extensions to the shell language) We discussed this on the call and it was agreed to: Richard: Move bugnote 2511 to a separate bug report. For that bug: Geoff: figure out what XCU 2.9.1.1 currently looks like for TC2 and Issue 8 so that we don't make conflicting changes All: for tc2, add a non-normative list of names to avoid to 2.9.1.1 item 1, using the list of names from bugnote 2511 All: maybe promote them to normative for issue 8 For this bug: Richard: file a new bug report with a concrete feature that would use the _POSIX* namespace (as motivation for reserving set -o _POSIX*) All: debate the proposed feature. If it's something we want, then revisit bug #901. If not, close bug #901. Bug #913: mention resource exhaustion as a possible source of errors for all utilities Accepted http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=913 This bug is tagged for TC2-2008 Bug #914: redirection error with function invocations or compound commands should not cause the shell to exit Accepted http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=914 This bug is tagged for Issue 8. Bug #917: specified 'logger' does not match actual usage OPEN http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=917 We will pick up on this bug next time Next Steps ---------- The next call is on April 9, 2015 (a Thursday) Calls are anchored on US time.
