| Subject: | Clarification on pax extended header keywords |

There is some confusion on whether pax must recognize extended keywords which begin with "realtime." and "security.". I contend that the specific mention of "realtime.<any>" and "security.<any>" is just an unnecessarily specific instance of the general statement earlier in the section that " Keywords consisting entirely of lowercase letters, digits, and periods are reserved for future standardization." The conformance tests are currently expecting extended header keywords which begin with "realtime." and "security." to be processed without error by pax, so either our implementation or the test is in error. Any advice? ------------------- Mark S. Brown STSM, UNIX/Linux OS Standards IBM Systems Group yyyyy@xxxxxxxxxx |
