Defect report from : Andrew Josey , The Open Group
(Please direct followup comments direct to yyyyyyyyyyyyyy@xxxxxxxxxxxxx)
@ page 1475 line 45659 section sysconf editorial {_REGEX_VERSION}
Problem:
Edition of Specification (Year): 2003
Defect code : 1. Error
The sysconf() manual page includes the entry _REGEX_VERSION _SC_REGEX_VERSION,
which was merged in from 1003.1a. There is no corresponding entry in unistd.h
for these symbols.
The text in .1a indicates it was to be used for versioning information
related to the _SC_REGEXP_VERSION (sic)
(.1a D17):
"172 POSIX.2RE: The version of ISO/IEC 9945-2 that defines _POSIX2_VERSION to
be the value indicated by the return value of sysconf(_SC_REGEXP_VERSION)."
Given that the approach for "_SC_2_C_VERSION" and "_SC_XOPEN_XCU_VERSION" has
been to remove them since they are unnecessary it would seem logical to be
consistent and remove this entry.
Action:
Delete "_REGEX_VERSION _SC_REGEX_VERSION" on line 45659.
