Problem:

Edition of Specification (Year): 2004

Defect code : 3. Clarification required

The uuencode specification says that non-base64 characters should
be ignored when decoding. Base64 encoding groups character into
4-octet groups representing 3-bytes of unencoded data. However,
my BSD implementation of uudecode does not handle newlines within
a group of 4 input characters.

Action:

The specifciation should disallow newlines within a group.
