On the printed page for grep (or any other utility), there is a clear
space between the brackets. See XCU P 495, Line 19118. Since the printed
page has precedence over the unofficial HTML version, there is no
problem.
My browser, Firefox 1.5, does actually render a space between the
brackets, though I admit when I view source there is none there.
