Andrew,
        For the record, the -z option also appeared in XPG2, but did
not have the UN margin marking at that point.  (The UN margin marking
did exist in XPG2, but was not used on this option.)
        I can't commit to checking all of the UN markings before we
get to Montreal, but I would have no objection to removing sort's -z
option from XCU6.  (The Solaris sort utility allocates sort buffers
dynamically and ignores any -z option and its option argument as long
as they are syntactically correct.)  I would object to changing the
meaning of the -z option to match gnu's sort because it could break
applications depending on the XCU2, XCU3, XCU4, XCU4v2, and XCU5
definition.
