regex regression tests

Andrew Hume mentioned regression tests by Doug McIlroy
I now maintain Doug's test program and data and have added tests
converted from other regex packages
its a nice setup and may provide a basis for comparison and discussion

the source tarball is posted at

        http://www.research.att.com/~gsf/testregex/

the file standards.dat contains tests mentioned in the recent flurry
also included are test programs and data for fnmatch() and glob()

please add me to the regex related cc: list if possible
