Attached is the first attempt at drafting the IEEE Project
Authorization Request for TC1.

The latest PAR form does not make this particularly easy.

12. SCOPE OF PROPOSED PROJECT:
Projected output including technical boundaries. REVISED
STANDARDS - Projected output including the scope of the
original standard, amendments and additions. Please be
brief (less than 5 lines).

Technical Corrigendum to IEEE Std 1003.1-2001.

The scope of items within the technical corrigenda are as
follows:

a. They are in the scope of the approved standard.

b. They contain no new APIs (functions/utilities), however they may add
enumeration symbol and non-function #defines and reserve additional
namespaces.

c. They address contradictions between different parts 
of the standard, add consistency between the standard and overriding
standards, or address security-related problems.

Intended users and user benefits. REVISION STANDARDS -
Purpose of the original standard and reason for the
standard's revision. Please be brief (less than 5 lines).

The purpose of the technical corrigenda is to address problems
discovered since the approval of IEEE Std 1003.1-2001. These
are mainly due to resolving integration issues raised by
the merger of the Base documents that went into IEEE Std 1003.1-2001.
This will benefit the body of users of IEEE Std 1003.1-2001.

understanding between The IEEE and The Open Group whereby the resulting
documents are joint copyright.




The PAR Copyright Release and Signature Page must be submitted either by FAX
to 208-460-5300 or as an e-mail attachment in .pdf format to the NesCom
Administrator before this PAR will be sent on for NesCom and Standards Board
approval.
