The current "epoch" definition (section 4.14) is Midnight Jan 1 1970 UTC. It was previously defined as GMT. Someday it might change again. There needs to be a way to get the epoch date and getconf is the obvious way. I would suggest EPOCH_START be defined in confstr and thus getconf. (To insure permanent compatibility you can use RFC-2550 date format. :-) -- Wayne Pollock |
