Which is precisely why uid_t, gid_t and id_t were not included in
the list of types in XBDd5 ERN 322 as submitted, and why I expressed
surprise (in the first mail in this thread) at them being added in
the resolution.

I wouldn't object if these three are taken out.  However, I definitely
would object if pid_t is taken out.
