The Open Group provides a platform at its quarterly and regional conferences for delegates, especially non-members, to learn about the work of The Open Group.  The Plenary Sessions for each Quarterly  Conference major on different technology areas and offer a chance to hear about and discuss the vision, requirements, and solutions involving open standards. Evangelism into other Standards Bodies and Consortia

A major goal for The Open Group Supplier Council is to develop an active standards adoption program, promoting the benefits of adopting standards. More for Members.

There is a need for marketing campaigns with the following objectives: 

Establish the needs for standards - show what problems are being addressed and how adopting interoperable standards-based solutions provides real commercial/business benefits to customers and suppliers alike. 

Accelerate adoption of standards in the end-consumer community. In particular, identify and show ways to overcome roadblocks to IT system customers having confidence to adopt interoperable standards-based solutions for their Information System business needs. 

Speaker Engagements

Open Group members and staff regularly attend and present at industry meetings and gatherings across the world.  They loose no opportunity to promote the need for open standards and interoperability.
