The Project Manager for the COMBINE project. The Open Group is an internationally renowned standards organisation formed from the merger of X/Open and OSF in 1996. The Open Group is responsible for many standards in the areas of UNIX, Security, Management, Architecture, Object Technology and operates a conformance program called The Open Brand. In conjunction with OMG, The Open Group has established an Open Brand for CORBA program that provides certified conformance of Object Technology implementations.

Schlumberger Reservoir Evaluation Seismic (Geco) works in the area of Oil and Gas Exploration, offering advanced seismic services. Geco is a member of the Schlumberger Group, the leader in oilfield services. The aim of seismic surveying is data acquisition to produce images of geological units and their structure below the surface of the earth. The goal is to provide a full seismic service package to the oil companies, ranging from acquisition via processing to interpretation. In order to increase the differentiation, Geco's strategy is to develop proprietary seismic related software products to support the seismic service business.

Founded in 1989, SOFTEAM has ten years' experience in object methodology, and has been editing and distributing an object-oriented CASE tool, which includes the notion of the meta-model, for 9 years. Softeam has three main activities: 1) Case tool editing with the "Objecteering" case tool, which has been on the market since 1992, 2) Consulting: As a provider of object-oriented methodology, and as an active OMG contributor, and 3) Training: SOFTEAM provides training in related technical areas (languages, techniques, tools) and in methodological areas.
