Advisory Group Debuts

Messaging Magazine would like to announce EMA's
new Editorial Advisory Group!
The EMA Editorial Advisory Group will set the vision and editorial direction
for EMA Publications and Messaging Magazine.
Marilyn Bullock, Vice
President, NationsBank
Ms. Bullock has responsibility for the strategic planning of messaging, directory services
and associated technologies within the bank. Her role is to look at new technologies and
influence standards bodies in the best interest of the bank. Recently, she led a team
effort to select a backbone directory service for the bank. She has been an active member
of the EMA and has served on many committees over the past 10 years. Given her focus on
new technologies, Ms. Bullock will help focus Messaging Magazine on areas of
strategic value.
Dennis G. Cannon, Technical
Director, Compaq Computer Corporation
Mr. Cannon has over 25 years of experience in the Computing industry and has been
involved with the EMA since 1984. He has presented numerous papers at industry forums as
well as EMA events. His most recent paper covering Year 2000 issues was published in the
May/June 1998 edition of Messaging Magazine. Mr. Cannon currently holds the
position of Technical Director in Compaq's Messaging and Collaboration Group. He holds a
BS in Business, specialty in Marketing from New Hampshire College.
Louann Friedland, Global Network
Consultant, Levi Strauss & Company
Ms. Friedland has been a messaging professional since 1982 when she introduced IBM
Profs to Levi Strauss & Company. She has managed and supported messaging for Levi
Strauss & Company for over 16 years and is currently responsible for project
management and consulting for global projects including planning, resourcing, management,
team building for both messaging and web projects. With roots in both technical and
managerial roles, she brings a tremendous breadth of knowledge in mainframe, distributed
and internet messaging.
David Goodman, Senior Product
Manager, Directories, Lotus Development Corp.
Before joining Lotus in 1994, he was manager of the PARADISE and PASSWORD projects
at University College London, Department of Computer Science. Goodman is recognized as a
leading international authority on directories. He is a well known and highly respected
public speaker on the subject of LDAP/X.500 and electronic directories. Goodman has
published numerous papers over the past seven years. He is the Chairman of the European
Electronic Messaging Association (EEMA) Directory Committee and is Treasurer on the EEMA
Board of Directors.
Randy Perrin, Technical Writer,
Kaiser Permanente
Mr. Perrin came to Kaiser Permanente in 1993, joining a new project to provide
Lotus Notes to managers throughout Kaiser's Northern California Region. In the ensuing
four years, he developed wide-ranging documentation for the Notes Team, as the Notes user
base grew to thousands of users on nearly 100 servers nationwide. Mr. Perrin recently
co-authored an article for Messaging Magazine describing a strategy Kaiser is
using to gently replace multiple, existing, e-mail platforms with a single, corporate
e-mail standard.
Elizabeth Tetzlaff, Messaging
Specialist, Ingram Micro
Ms. Tetzlaff has worked in the Information Technology field since 1987. She began
implementing and supporting e-mail in 1993 while at Taco Bell Corp. She then joined Hunt
Wesson in 1995, completed e-mail rollout and began an Exchange implementation. Elizabeth
moved on to Ingram Micro in 1997 and has begun rolling Exchange/Outlook to 12,000
associates worldwide. Balancing the integration of disparate systems, meeting business and
technical needs, while controlling budgetary issues, has made her a strong technical
leader and a valuable asset to the EMA Editorial Advisory Group.
