The two most frequently requested topics members ask EMA to provide more information on are directories and security, based on surveys and focus groups. As a result, you will see these topics covered in greater detail at the EMA Solutions Summit, in a new Committee effort: Challenge '99 and in this issue of Messaging Magazine.

The Solutions Summit will be held October 28-30, 1998, at the Buena Vista Palace & Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Highlights include 3 concurrent tracks: Directories and Management, Security/Privacy and User-to-User, Keynote presentation by James Canton, Ph.D. and President of The Institute for Global Futures, and a Plenary Super Session: "Scared Straight" About Computer Security, moderated by Brock Meeks of MSNBC with a hacker think tank. The Summit will also include product demonstrations of the latest solutions at work by leading providers.

Challenge '99 will demonstrate a standards-based, secure, global Electronic Commerce (EC) environment featuring a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) that is interoperable across different Certificate Authorities (CAs). Challenge '99 will document the major business benefits for secure EC and how businesses and consumers can advance far beyond today's accepted business practices.

This issue of Messaging Magazine provides the latest challenges and joyful successes of Lockheed Martin, Salomon Smith Barney, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, U.S. Treasury, and GartnerGroup.
