The Distributed Management Task Force is the industry organization that is leading the development, adoption and unification of management standards and initiatives for desktop, enterprise and Internet environments. Working with key technology vendors and affiliated standards groups, the DMTF is enabling a more integrated, cost-effective, and less crisis-driven approach to management through interoperable management solutions. The DMTF provides leadership to the supplier community through its Common Information Model (CIM). The DMTF liaison with the Mobile Management Forum aims to extend its Common Information Model to include the requirements defined by the Secure Mobile Architecture WG. The DMaP WG will be working with the WBeM and Pegasus efforts within the DMTF to represent the needs of mobility. |
DMTF standards are used as the basis for The Open Group work in creating open source implementations and interface standards in Enterprise Management. The Open Group work on Pegasus has had a major impact on promoting WBEM as a "real" technology, and is having a major impact on the manageability industry |
DMTF is responsible for DEN, the Directory Enabled Networks initiative. The DMTF is a Challenge Partner in the Mobile and Directory Challenge - a joint initiative of the DIF and the MMF to explore and demonstrate the value of Directories in support of Mobile Computing. |
The QoS Task Force has a liaison with the DMTF on mapping Service Level Agreements and Policy, and on the SLA Enterprise Business Scenario work. |
