World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)

World Wide Web (W3C) The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) develops interoperable technologies (specifications: guidelines: software: and tools) to lead the Web to its full potential as a forum for information: commerce: communication: and collective understanding. The bulk of it's work is on HTML and XML: plus new areas of technology. There are some areas where W3C works with IETF to leverage the combined knowledge of the working groups.

The Open Group is a member of W3C. The Security Forum monitors their activities affecting security issues, including XML schemas for interoperable data for security services.
