Mobile Computer User Group
In 1996 a group of mobile technology users, senior managers in the major utility and emergency services, came together to form the MCUG as an informal private ‘club’. These users were committed to devolving the benefits of IT usage to their front line and ‘blue collar’ operations, and wanted a forum in which to share and exchange ideas and pool common user requirements. By 1998 MCUG activities developed to a stage where it was decided to open membership. Today, our user members represent a latent mobile IT purchasing community of over one hundred thousand mobile units
