1.
The hardware platform used was a Compaq Professional Workstation XP1000 with 500 MHz EV6, 256 MB Memory, Integrated Wide-Ultra SCSI, 4.3GB Wide-Ultra SCSI disk, Integrated Compaq Fast Ethernet NIC (10/100 Intel), PowerStorm 3D30 Model PCI Graphics Adapter, P75 Monitor. The operating system used was Tru64 UNIX Version 4.0e, run in shared library mode with the DEC C V5.8-009 compiler.

To use the XPG4-conformant version of the make command, you must use the make command found in the /usr/bin/posix directory.

To use the XPG4-conformant version of the df command with the -t option or the -F option, set the environment variable CMD_ENV to xpg4 and export the variable. The default behavior of the -t option and the -F option specifies a filesystem type for which information is desired. Future migration plans specify that the default behavior will be XPG4-conformant and the environment variable will be used to trigger existing behavior.

To use the XPG4-conformant sh command, set the environment variable BIN_SH to xpg4 and export the variable. This causes the invocation of /usr/bin/posix/sh.
