DRDA Product Identifier Table

The Technical Standard for DRDA Version 3 requires that DRDA requesters and servers provide a unique 3-letter product identifier to identify the source of the DRDA product. This product identifier is then used for serviceability.

Any organization wishing to register a 3-letter Product Identifier should submit their request to the DBIOP consortium.

NOTES:

  1. Derby Registration:
By agreement documented in email dated 07/12/2005 from IBM, Derby now owns the CSS namespace. As shown in the table, Cloudscape also continues to use the CSS DRDA Server product identifier. By continuing to use the CSS product identifier, Cloudscape commits to being compatible with the Derby implementation. If in the future, Cloudscape needs to diverge from Derby, then Cloudscape will need to obtain its own new DRDA product identifier.
  2. Use of Derby Product Identifiers:
In the same way that the owners of Cloudscape maintain the CSS Identifier because they commit to maintaining compatibility with the Derby implementation, so too do the owners of Java DB commit to maintaining compatibility with Derby and so register their product as using the same Product Identifiers as Derby.
