DirecNet™: Composition

The DirecNet™ Task Force was formed under the umbrella of The Open Group. It is composed of industry and government organizations, their representatives, and advisors, creating an acquisition-neutral setting where industry has direct access to the government customer and can influence procurement and policy.

The DirecNet™ Task Force is made up of the following elements:

  • Steering Committee: Executive body where overall policy, guidance and standard decisions occur using a one-vote/one-company approach
  • Advisory Board: Government representatives providing guidance, feedback on standards and overall recommendations   More
  • Technical Work Group: Technical body which conducts communication trades and generates the standard modules for adoption by the Task Force
  • Business Work Group: Marketing group developing business plans and working with the customer community
  • Certification Work Group: Body which develops vendor equipment profiles and certification procedures to brand products as DirecNet™ compliant
