Abstract:
There is an ever-increasing need for a more robust, higher-capacity and interoperable communications infrastructure to support evolving DoD operational requirements.
According to David Narkevicius of OSD NII, "DoD is working to achieve communications interoperability, affordability, and incorporation of evolving technologies. The Department depends on reliable and flexible communications to support warfighter missions. In partnership with industry, the Department is working to help develop future communications capabilities. Efforts like the DirecNet™ Task Force teaming across industry are working to provide new communications capabilities offering interoperable, flexible, high-bandwidth communications with a structure to optimize competition for cost savings to the Department."
This panel will discuss the DirecNet™ vision, waveform requirements drivers, and development status.
