Sophocles Mail Manager FAQ -- "Add Subscriber"

This FAQ is to help explain the Add Subscriber feature within the Sophocles Mail Manager .

What is Add Subscriber for ?
Add Subscriber is a List Maintainer feature that allows one or more additional additions to the subscribers for a list.
How do I access the Add Subscriber function ?
This function can be entered by selecting the number of subscribers shown on the Start Page for the lists to which you are a maintainer. The Add Subscriber link should then be visible.
How do I add a subscribers ?
Use the alias, not the email address, of the person you wish to add and separate the names with a space or a new line. The first box subscribes them to receive email AND enables web access (if the mailing list is used as an access control list for the web). The second box gives web access only. Normally the first box should be used.
Why is web access only useful ?
Setting a subscriber to web access only can be useful, for example if a user does not want to receive email from the list yet wants access to the mail archive or to a web area that uses the mailing list for access control. It is also useful for users who go on vacation and want to not receive email while they are away.
How do I find a subscriber's alias ?
Use the Search screen.
