The Open Group Announces Availability of TOGAF™ Certification in Chinese

Popular EA Framework and Pocket Guide Translated into Chinese Language to Promote Global Adoption

Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference, Hong Kong, Oct. 19, 2009 –The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, today announced the availability of certification for TOGAF 9 in Chinese. The Open Group China will offer the certification exams at Kingdee Software offices throughout China.  In addition, the TOGAF 9 Pocket Guide – previously available only in French and English - is now available in Chinese as well.

Introduced last February, TOGAF 9 features significant enhancements to key capabilities of the framework introduced in previous versions.  This latest version includes new materials that show in detail how the Architecture Development Method can be applied to specific situations, such as service-oriented architecture and security architecture. In addition, the new Architecture Content Framework includes a detailed content meta-model that formalizes the definition of an enterprise architecture and also establishes clear links between business and IT objects.  In all areas, the specification adds detail and clarity above and beyond previous TOGAF versions.

“TOGAF certification is an important step in making enterprise architecture a well-recognized discipline, and this translation furthers The Open Group’s mission as a global consortium that enables interoperability worldwide,” said Allen Brown, CEO, The Open Group. “We hope that offering TOGAF 9 certification in Chinese will help enterprise architects throughout the region clearly demonstrate to employers and peers their commitment to building architectures based on open standards.”

Organizations use the TOGAF standard to reduce time, costs and risks associated with developing an enterprise architecture and improve overall business agility by more closely aligning their business and IT goals. TOGAF certification programs enable organizations to standardize on an open method for IT architecture and avoid lock-in to the proprietary methods of major vendors. Worldwide there are currently over 30 training partners supporting the continued market adoption of TOGAF by both individuals and organizations alike.

The certification exams will be offered approximately every month at branch offices of Kingdee Software. For more information or to register for an exam date and test location, please inquire at: http://www.kingdee.com/about/contact.jsp
