International Conference to Focus on Enterprise Architecture, SOA and Cloud Computing as Business Enablers
HONG KONG, September 21, 2009 – The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, today announced the program agenda and speakers for its Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference to be held in Hong Kong, October 19-21, 2009, at the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel and Towers. Co-produced with The Open Group China, the event will focus on how to use enterprise architecture, SOA and cloud computing to drive marked business value. Additional topics to be addressed include enterprise architectures for business transformation, TOGAF™ in practice, and secure architectures.
The plenary conference sessions on Monday will focus on how enterprise architects can use SOA to deliver unified business and technical architectures for their organizations. Xu Shao Chun (Robert Xu), chairman and chief architect, Kingdee, will present the keynote speech, “Enterprise Architecture Supporting the Chinese Management Model,” followed by presentations from Simon Chan, senior SOA architect, IBM Asia Pacific, and Dr. Chris Harding, director, SOA Work Group, The Open Group.
Tuesday’s sessions will explore the key business drivers for embracing TOGAF™ by looking at real-world applied case-studies as well as the added value TOGAF certification provides to architects. Speakers include Allen Brown, president and CEO, The Open Group, who will talk candidly about the experience of using TOGAF to architect The Open Group’s systems, followed by presentations by Geoff McClelland, vice president, technology, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Min Shen, CTO, Capgemini. Afternoon tracks will include a case study entitled “EA to Transform a Financial Services Business” delivered by Jason Uppal, chief architect, QRS, Canada and “EA Enabled Business Transformation – A Pragmatic Approach,” by Nethaji Chapala, IT architect consultant, Tata Consultancy Services, India.
Wednesday’s agenda will include presentations on secure architectures, cloud computing, and TOGAF 9 with presentations by Steve Whitlock, chief security strategist, Boeing; Gavenraj Sodhi, director, business development, Skyworth TTG; Jim Hietala, vice president of Security, The Open Group; and Vish Viswanathan, managing principal, CC&C Solutions, Australia.
