COE Platform V2

Category: Operating System and Languages [CP]

The Common Operating Environment (COE) provides a foundation for building open systems. It is a "plug-and-play" open architecture designed around a client/server model. The COE Platform V2 Product Standard provides a standard environment, a set of standard off-the-shelf components, and a set of programming standards that describe how to add new functionality to the environment. The major change in COE Platform V2 is alignment of the formal standards requirement with version 3 of the Single UNIX Specification (for UNIX 03). Other changes are some minor corrections to indicators of compliance, and updating the Conformance Statement Questionnaire to permit multiple patch levels of the GSKS. Mandatory Product Standards include COE Platform Government-Supplied Kernel Source V2, COE Platform Security and COE Platform Standards V2,
