X.400 Gateway

Category: General Interworking [GG]

This Product Standard enables the construction of portable gateway applications that allow messages from one messaging system (for example, electronic mail) to be converted and forwarded according to the formats and conventions of another messaging system. Usage is not restricted to electronic mail since the interfaces and protocols may equally be used to convey messages containing arbitrary binary data; for example, electronic data interchange (EDI). Usage is not restricted to X.400 OSI networks as the programming interfaces are equally applicable to other protocols.
