Preparation was minimal as I needed to spend evenings and weekends plumbing and wiring new bits of house: all I had time for was a valve adjustment and oil change.
I had a business in London on the Friday afternoon, finishing at 3.15, after which I thought a quick dash to Paddington, a train to Reading and 40 min drive would see me back home by 5.30, but I hadn't reckoned on the Bakerloo and Victoria lines being suspended. Finally home by 6.30. Eldest daughter was coming with me, and er, wasn't quite ready!
Finally away by 8.30. Stopped for diesel at South Mimms, but when we started off again the M25 entry ramp was shut, with people in fluorescent jackets dealing with an oil spill. Divert up the A1. Rain on and off. A11 near Thetford closed, and diverted round Lakenheath. Arrived at 12.30 to find the paddock full. Eventually found a spot near enough to the scrutineering bay, unloaded the bike and sorted the caravan out.
