Problem:
We are familiar with Items 1  and 5  from  Donald W. Cragun's 
ballot and would object if these changes were not included in this standard.


We also support items 2,3,4, 6,7,8,9,10 from Donald W.Cragun's ballot
which are comments.

Action:

This action can be resolved by resolving Items 1 and 5 from Donald W.
Cragun's ballot.

Problem: ( incorrect use of trademark)

UNIX is a registered trademark. This amendment does not acknowledge
the trademark nor use it correctly. In particular hyphenated use
of a trademark goes against the trademark usage guidelines.

Action:
Add a trademark acknowledgement to the draft (or a note to confirm
that it is as follows when merged):
"UNIX is a registered trademark of The Open Group in the US and other
countries."

Change "like those in many non-UNIX operating systems" to
"like those in many operating systems that are not UNIX systems"

Also change p 25, l 418

Change "are very similar to the process creation operations on
many non-UNIX operating systems" 
to
"are very similar to the process creation operations on 
many operating systems that are not UNIX systems."

2 Sect. AnnexI Editorial Comment. page 99, line 19

Problem: ( byline on the ioctl function)


Line 19 states "Nonetheless, no real UNIX implementation has removed" ,
what's a real UNIX implementation? This phrase appears to draw conclusions
as to what a real UNIX system is.  It would be better to rephrase.

The fact that the ioctl() function is included in the Single UNIX Specification
to support STREAMS  is also omitted.

Action:
Change to "Few if any UNIX systems have removed the ioctl() function.."
