RE: NEW P1003.1-2001/Cor 1/D6 (C/PA) Information Technology - Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) - Technical Corrigendum Number 1

On 11 December the IEEE-SA Standards Board approved Technical Corrigendum Number 1 to standard 1003.1-2001 (the Austin Group specifications). This is the first maintenance update to the Austin Group specifications, which are simultaneously ISO/IEC, IEEE and Open Group standards. Formal approval by the Board of Directors of The Open Group is expected to follow shortly.

As a technical corrigendum this update changes the meaning of the standard in the form of an important set of corrections to the original text. This update is key for the certification program for the Single UNIX Specification Version 3 due to be deployed in 2003.
