Authorization API Technical Specification
Register of Authentication Mechanism OIDs

In Open Group publication C908, January 2000, Section 6.5.3, The Open Group undertook to maintain an Authentication Mechanism OIDs registration system using its ISO-registered "X/Open Object Identifier". The purpose is to standardize identifiers for authentication mechanisms, and so support portability of applications calling Authorization API implementations that support multiple authentication mechanisms.

This page provides this registration system. The full OID is:
    ISO (1); National Member Body (2); UK (826); National (0); X/Open (1050); AZN Mechanisms (12);
The description for "AZN Mechanisms" is:
    "Authentication mechanisms for authorization credential acquisition"
Below "AZN Mechanisms" is a sequential list of registered mechanisms, starting with Reference Number 1.

In the table of Registered Mechanisms (below), each registered mechanism includes a Specification Name, and a detailed description of the datatype that is passed through the mechanism_info parameter of the Authorization API's azn_id_get_creds( ) function call. Click on register a mechanism to submit a request for registration.
