Information Security Managers from Business and Government who are interested in hearing about the Jericho Forum, its de-perimeterization approach, its progress to date, and its future directions, were invited to attend.

The conference was attended by 105 members and delegates from a wide range of IT customer and vendor organizations. The customer representation included banking, insurance, financial services, building societies, telecoms, broadcasting, health, national government, local government, aerospace, airlines, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, postal services, and legal. Representatives from 12 vendors also attended.

Presentations

Richard Watts (Publishing Director, SC Magazine) and Ron Condon (Editor-in-Chief, SC Magazine) welcomed attendees to the conference.

Five leading members of the Jericho Forum then gave as series of presentations aimed at describing what the Jericho Forum is now - these presentations are available on the Jericho Forum public Web page as a single PDF file (98 slides in total, 1.96MB):

• John Meakin (Standard Chartered Bank) started the presentation sequence by describing what issues the Jericho Forum was formed to address - the challenges YOU are facing, expressed in business terms
• Paul Simmonds (ICI) answered the question "What is Jericho?".
• Andrew Yeomans (Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein) described what the Jericho Forum members have achieved in the past year.
• Adrian Seccombe (Eli Lilly) outlined what the Jericho Forum is planning to do going forwards
• Paul Simmonds (ICI) explained how the Jericho Forum wants to attract vendor members to achieve strong and practical mutually beneficial vendor involvement
• David Lacey (Royal Mail) closed the presentation sequence by looking at the longer-term and suggesting answers to the question "Where could Jericho take us?".

This set of presentations was followed by a Panel formed from the presenters and moderated by Ron Condon, answering and discussing questions from the floor.
