Welcome to the NAC Resources Web page, where the publications, resources, and achievements agreed to be transferred from the NAC are available. Background
At the end of January 2008, The Network Applications Consortium (NAC) will cease operations under its charter - see the Press Release announcing this. In November 2007 the NAC Board, recognizing the synergy between its objectives and those of The Open Group's Security Forum, recommended its members should transition to the Security Forum to continue pursuing those objectives. The Open Group facilitated this transition, and those NAC members who were interested joined the Security Forum over the period from Dec 2007 to end-Jan 2008. As part of this transition, the NAC transferred its past publications and other assets to the Security Forum. These resources are available from this page. They are restricted to access by Security Forum members (i.e. requiring Log in).
The NAC was originally formed in 1991 by a number of organizations who joined forces to address relevant technical issues which they held in common. Their goal was to influence vendors in a number of areas, spanning virtual-enterprise application and infrastructure technologies. The NAC had a successful track record in fulfilling this mission over the period to 2007. The NAC members will bring valuable experience and expertise to join with existing Security Forum members in continuing to pursue common objectives. |
