Summary: This document is The Open Group Guide to Security Architecture Principles. It has been developed by The Open Group Security Architecture Practitioner's Project Workgroup. This Guide is intended to be the first in a series of documents on Security Architecture.

Timeline for publication:

• August 27, 2018, Announce Forum Review
• August 27 - September 12, 2018 Document review period
• September 13 -20, 2018 Authors to address change requests  
• September 21 - October 12, 2018 Ballot period
• October 13 - 22, 2018  Technical Editing
• October 31 - November 7, 2018, Executive Approval

The review uses The Open Group Guide review process.

How to Participate: Members are requested to review the draft and submit Change Requests (CRs) that they consider will make the document acceptable or otherwise improve it. CRs should be submitted using the online review system and must be received by the closing date.
+ Click on the tag where you want to add your Change Request
+ Fill in all areas (click on HELP if additional information is necessary)
+ When viewing the HTML/tagged file, there are links at the top of the page that you should be aware of: “Help with Document Review” – provides you with detailed instructions on entering and editing CRs. “Comments” – provides a table with the existing comments from all reviewers. You will be asked to supply your username and password to access the review materials. Please contact a.bonin@opengroup.org should you need any assistance with your username or password.

Procedure:
1. All requests for modifications must be submitted via The Open Group Review System in the form of formal change requests (CRs).
2. The CRs with the authors' proposed resolutions will be circulated to the sponsors.
3. A meeting will be held to discuss the proposed resolutions.

Change Requests: To ensure completeness, please submit change requests in the following standard format:
+ Title: Short title describing the request
+ Qualifier: Nature and severity of the change request:
     * Severity: Minor, Major, Critical
     * Nature: Editorial, Technical
+ Rational: Reason the change is needed
+ Change: Identify the precise text/diagram you want to be changed (added, deleted, or modified), and specify the exact changes you propose. Changes lacking specific editing instructions are open to (mis)interpretation, so to avoid being asked to clarify, be specific. (if necessary the change can be included in an attachment).
